GoDaddy is famous in the hosting world for many reasons.  Not only does it have one of the more unusual names of any of the top hosting sites on the net, but it also offers some of the best value for money.  Particularly if you are looking for shared hosting, GoDaddy offers impressive functionality at incredibly low rates, and even its domain names are a little cheaper than they are on most sites.  What fewer people probably know is that GoDaddy has a vast selection of hosting plans, from the shared plans for personal sites and small businesses right up to some of the biggest and most advanced dedicated and cloud servers available.

In addition to the main options available above, GoDaddy offers specialist hosting for Wordpress, blogs and podcasts.  These come with the same great rates and many of the same features as shared hosting accounts, but offer the functionality and specialist software you need to make the most of your blogging.  On top of all this, is the option to purchase add-ons such as dedicated IPs, so you can really do everything you want with your hosting package.

Servers

Just as with its shared hosting, GoDaddy offers a large number of packages for virtual private servers, dedicated servers and cloud servers.  As well as giving you the option to order a pre-configured model, each server is fully configurable in nearly every respect.  For example, with a dedicated server, you can purchase additional bandwidth, upgrade your control panel to Plesk or cPanel, buy additional backup or firewall facilities or add an assisted service plan for extra support and management.  Everything really is up to you, so you can buy exactly what you need or can afford.  Reliability is also key when it comes to buying a server, and GoDaddy does not cut corners here.  With some of the best technology available and impressive uptime records, GoDaddy's servers have some of the best performance of any available.

Support

GoDaddy's support system is in keeping with its high standards elsewhere.  The online area has an in-depth and searchable knowledgebase, as well as community forums with thousands of active users ready to answer your questions.  The company's phone and email response times speak for themselves, and their staff are experienced and helpful.  For those who purchase servers from GoDaddy, there is the option of much more advanced support, should you need it, and at quite reasonable rates.

GoDaddy occasionally offers impressive sales, so make sure you look out for opportunities to save up to 50% on some of their shared plans.  However, even at their regular rates, GoDaddy's value for money is amongst the best in the business.  If you buy from GoDaddy, you know you are buying from one of the most reliable and trusted names in web hosting, and there are few companies that can offer you the flexibility and performance that each of their packages guarantees.
