Editor's Review:
Hosting24 offer both traditional shared and reseller plans, with two options for each. All four come with unlimited email and MySQL database capabilities, as well as a basic website builder, a free domain name for life and the coveted cPanel control panel. In addition, you’ll be covered by Hosting24’s 99.9% uptime guarantee, giving peace of mind and providing a level of reliability all small businesses need.
Shared Hosting
Hosting24’s entry level plan, ‘Silver’, includes unlimited disk space, bandwidth and FTP accounts, giving your site the potential to grow as much as it needs to. You’ll also be able to run your site with any major language you choose, and use the web framework ‘Ruby on Rails’. Upgrading to the ‘Gold’ plan only costs an additional $3 monthly, and provides shell access as well as a more advanced site builder - a good bet if you’re a novice looking to create a well-styled site, as the basic one does not even include capabilities for the creation of FAQs, blogs or photo albums.
Reseller Hosting
If you’re looking to set up your own web hosting business, there are two options here, with only three differences between them. Both include unlimited domains, FTP accounts and emails, and both are managed with the WebHostManager software included free. For their ‘Starter’ package, Hosting24 place strict limits of 50GB storage and 500GB monthly traffic, though overselling is allowed, so if you do on occasion exceed this it’s not going to be a problem for your customers. Add $10 a month and the storage and usage allowances disappear, meaning you can cram as many end users as you like into your business, and on top of that Hosting24 will create you a professional website free of charge. Judging by their own site, this may not quite be the masterpiece you have in mind, but it should be well laid out and fairly easy to follow.
Support
Support is as important, if not more so, than the products on offer, especially when the hosting market is so crowded and competitive. Savings between packages can be completely negated by poor service, as customer trust can be easily lost. Unfortunately, Hosting24 does not quite provide the top service it should, with the omission of any phone support. Instead they rely on web chat and a ticketing system alongside online FAQs, and for many customers this will not prove enough.
Hosting24 offer a limited range of mid-value plans. There is ultimately nothing to get excited by here, and their support may not suit users in real need of it. Unless people stumble across their site and look no further, you can’t see any reason why this company would stand out over the competition.
