Bravenet advertises 'unlimited bandwidth' but this is a lie. Unknownst to the user, they put what they call 'soft limits' on your bandwidth usage, so if you go over that they will, without notice, take your sites down for being 'over bandwidth'. You have to contact them (via online support ticket--there is no 'live' help, telephone number, etc) and have them fix your sites. Even then (if you can finally get a response from anyone), all they do is make sure you're not 'abusing' (their mysterious determination) and then increase your 'soft limit' incrementally. So next month you may go over again, they shut your sites down, you have to contact them again, etc. Bravenet's 'unlimited bandwidth' is a lie and the company is a clown show. I was a customer for 15+ years but finally got tired of their excuses, lies and abuse. Good riddance.

In summary, I would not recommend Bravenet to a friend.

I have 3 different Bravenet accounts, each one dedicated to it's own website.
Mysteriously, all 3 of them went offline at the SAME TIME and said I had exceeded my bandwidth and that I needed to purchase paid hosting. Coincidence?

Nope, it's a strait up scam and I caught them in the act. There's nothing coincidental about 3 websites exceeding their bandwidth at the same time, especially since 2 of them don't use any bandwidth at all.

I would gladly take my files and move to another host, but apparently, Bravenet doesn't want me to leave because they're holding my websites hostage. I can't even access FTP to download my files unless I pay them their ransom money.

So, in further token of my appreciation for all of the great things Bravenet has done to extort money out of me, I have take the liberty upon myself to use my own "mafia like" tactics to expose these criminals. It's summer, school's out and I have nothing better to do than to sit around posting this message on all the hosting forums, review sites, filing BBB reports and spreading the word of this con operation.

Now, I don't know what the editor was looking at when he wrote his review! But I'm here to tell you why I love Bravenet!

You get 30GB of storage space on their servers! Alot of hosting companies that offer unlimited space, have a node limit (i.e. 50,000 nodes) this means that you can upload as much as you want, but not go over 50,000 files! Now these can be 50,000 10GB files, 50,000 5MB files or 50,000 2KB files, it really makes no difference!

With Bravenet, you can host 50Billion+ files as long as you don't go over 30GB. They also offer unlimited bandwidth, which means you can have people download from your site as much as they want!

You can have unlimited databases, email accounts and FTP accounts, all of which count towards your account storage (most hosts have a maximum database size of 150MB where Bravenet can go to your accounts allowance)

Bravenet is excellent when it comes to hosting CMS programs like Drupal, Joomla and Wordpress. Especially since there is no node limit and all these CMS's rely on alot of small php files!

In summary, I would recommend Bravenet to a friend.
